Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Introduction
The data user under this Privacy Policy is Sunmood Limited (brand name: Sun Mood Divorce Consultancy, referred to below as “we” or “us”). We value your personal data privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, process and use your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486).
This policy applies when you contact us through this website, WhatsApp, phone or e-mail, and when you engage us to provide services. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact the Privacy Officer listed below.
Personal data we collect
Depending on how you contact us, we may collect the following:
- Name
- Phone number
- E-mail address
- The type and content of your enquiry (for example, the situation you describe in it)
- The date and time you would like to book (if applicable)
- If you engage us: the information needed to handle the matter, such as identity documents, details of the marriage and children, financial information, and information you give us about your spouse or other people
- When you browse this website: connection data automatically recorded by the server of our website hosting provider, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. We do not use it to identify individuals
- When you browse this website: Cookie data recorded by Google Analytics (a website traffic analysis service), namely the pages you view, whether you click a WhatsApp or phone contact button, and your device type and approximate location. See “Cookies and similar technologies” below. It does not include your name, phone number, e-mail address or message content
- When you browse this website: Cookie and similar data recorded by Google Ads and Meta Pixel (advertising measurement services) and Microsoft Clarity (a website usage analysis service), such as the pages you view, your clicks and scrolling on pages, whether you click a WhatsApp or phone contact button, and your device type and approximate location. See “Cookies and similar technologies” below
How we collect it, and whether providing it is voluntary
It is up to you whether you give us personal data. If you use the booking form, you must enter your name and either a phone number or an e-mail address, otherwise the form cannot produce a message. If you choose not to give contact details, we will not be able to reply to your enquiry or arrange the follow-up you need.
Some pages of this website have a booking form. When you press the submit button, the form content is put together in your browser as a pre-filled WhatsApp message, and WhatsApp is opened through a wa.me link, so the message content may be sent through that link to WhatsApp’s servers. We receive the message only after you press send yourself. This website does not send the form content to our servers and does not store it.
How we use your personal data
We use the personal data we collect only to:
- Reply to your enquiry
- Arrange and follow up the free initial consultation
- Provide the divorce consultancy services you asked about
- Let our website hosting provider keep this website running
- Use Google Analytics to compile statistics and understand how this website is used
- Use Google Ads and Meta Pixel to measure how well our online advertising works, and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this website, so that we can improve it
Transfer of data
We will not transfer your personal data to other people or organisations, except in the following cases:
- If you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, your message is sent through WhatsApp (a messaging service provided by WhatsApp LLC, whose servers may be outside Hong Kong) and is governed by that service’s own privacy policy
- This website is hosted by Netlify. Its servers automatically record connection data when you browse this website, and those servers may be outside Hong Kong
- This website uses Google Analytics to analyse traffic. Google therefore receives data such as the pages you view, whether you click a WhatsApp or phone contact button, and your device type and approximate location. Google’s servers may be outside Hong Kong, and the data is governed by Google’s own privacy policy. We do not send your name, phone number, e-mail address or message content through Google Analytics
- This website uses Google Ads and Meta Pixel to measure advertising results. Google and Meta Platforms therefore receive the pages you view and records such as whether you click a WhatsApp or phone contact button, and may, under their own policies, link these records to your account on their services and use them to measure and deliver advertising. The servers may be outside Hong Kong, and the data is governed by the privacy policies of Google and Meta. When you enter an e-mail address in an enquiry form, Google Ads receives only the hashed (SHA-256) form of that address, used to measure the enquiries our advertising brings in
- This website uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use it. Microsoft therefore receives the pages you view, records of your mouse movements, clicks and scrolling on pages, and your device type and approximate location. Microsoft’s servers may be outside Hong Kong, and the data is governed by Microsoft’s own privacy statement
- At your instruction, to file documents with the court or other relevant government departments in order to handle the case you have engaged us for
- To pass your personal data to solicitors, mediators, valuers or translators in order to handle the case you have engaged us for, but only to the extent your case needs
- Our e-mail service provider (which stores the e-mails you send us)
- Where the law requires it, or a law enforcement agency lawfully requires it
Direct marketing
We do not currently use your personal data for direct marketing, and we do not give it to third parties for direct marketing. If this changes, we will first obtain your consent or indication of no objection, and give you a way to opt out in the marketing communication.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses Google Analytics (a website traffic analysis service) to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics sets a Cookie in your browser to recognise the same browser. The site also uses your browser’s sessionStorage to remember whether you have already seen the opening animation on the home page. This record stays on your own device and is not sent to us or to any third party.
The data Google Analytics records includes the pages you view, whether you click a WhatsApp or phone contact button, and the device type and approximate location Google infers. This website does not send Google Analytics your name, phone number, e-mail address, or anything you enter in the booking form or a WhatsApp message. The booking form content goes directly to WhatsApp through the wa.me link only after you press the form’s submit button, without passing through this website’s analytics. If you do not want Google Analytics to collect your browsing records, you can turn off Cookie use in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on provided by Google.
This website also uses Google Ads, Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity. Google Ads and Meta Pixel set a Cookie in your browser to measure how many visits and enquiries our advertising brings (for example, whether you click a WhatsApp or phone contact button). Microsoft Clarity sets a Cookie and records what you do on this website (for example the pages you view, mouse movements, clicks and scrolling), so that we can understand how the site is used. If you do not want these services to collect your browsing records, you can disable or clear the Cookie in your browser settings, and you can also adjust advertising settings in Google’s “My Ad Center” and Facebook’s “Ad Preferences”.
When this website loads Google Fonts (the Noto Serif HK and Noto Sans HK typefaces), your browser sends a request directly to Google’s servers, and Google may therefore receive your IP address. This is governed by Google’s own privacy policy, and we do not separately obtain or use that data.
Retention period
We keep your personal data only for as long as the purpose of collection requires, and then delete or destroy it securely, except where the law requires it to be kept for a specific period.
Data security
We take reasonably practicable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss or use.
Access to and correction of personal data
Under sections 18 and 22 of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), you have the right to access and correct personal data we hold about you. To make an access or correction request, please contact the Privacy Officer below in writing (by e-mail or post). Where the law allows, we may charge a reasonable fee for handling an access request (not more than the direct cost of handling it); we do not charge for handling a correction request.
When making an access request, please use the Data Access Request Form (OPS003) specified by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, which can be downloaded from the Commissioner’s website.
